TRYPOD

Trypod is the result of a search for a refined, timeless chair. The chair has an open frame with the backside and the actual seating element mounted lightly and assembled only by a few joints which provide stability to the framework. This gives the chair an ‘airy and light’ character and allows an open view on the fine detailing of the structural elements. Its fluent lines, strict form and well-balanced proportions come together in a well-balanced object.

ANTE

Ante tries to question the typological characteristics of a traditional chest of drawers. Usually a chest of drawers consists of an exterior frame, back panel and a series of individual drawers with runners. The height of the unit is limited to the size of the frame and the drawer can only be opened in one direction. The individual floating drawers make use of a centrally placed steel structure. This design results in a column of drawers, which can be opened to all 4 sides. The random and irregular pattern created by the positioning of the drawers creates a rich and wonderful combination of fun and form. Ante can be appreciated as a sculptural object as well as an entirely functional, practical item of furniture.

FLAVORHOOD

The design is based on a feeling most young people share: the need to live alone and create their own life. For most of them the starting point is a small apartment without a garden and the phrase “huisje, tuintje, boompje, kindjes” is summarizing their future plans.

The idea was to respond to this feeling by already giving them a house with a garden. This resulted in 5 archetypal Flemish micro buildings in which the user can keep his main dry herbs and grow his first little fresh herb garden. The different forms were realized in the search for the purest, most refined and recognizable shape.

By combining the different types the user is able to create his own private kitchen neighbourhood.
